Since they ARE discontinued products, the manufacturer normally just tries to get rid of their last production.  Of course, as a responsible consumer, you must be certain as well that the discontinued cosmetic you're buying can actually be consumed or used.

Most beauty products don't have expiration dates; you have to use your sense of smell (and sometimes taste when it comes to lipsticks, balms and glosses) to determine if these discontinued beauty booties are still safe to apply.  Discontinued products, from the time they are pulled out from the store, are still considered "fresh" within 6 months.

Even if you order online, you can send the product back if you notice that the seal is broken, the make-up isn't as fresh as you're used to, or any other inconsistency you may notice.
