Making Lotions - Cinnamon Scented Lotions

Making lotions of different scents is a great aromatherapy treatment. Homemade lotions are milder than store-bought ones. Try whipping up cinnamon scented lotions and see the amazing results. Not only will the cinnamon scent improve your circulation and digestion, but it will also drive pesky mosquitoes away.

There are two types of cinnamon oil used as beauty ingredients; leaf and bark oil. When making homemade lotions, keep in mind to use only a small amount of cinnamon oil, maximum of three drops. The scent of cinnamon may be comforting and energizing, but pouring large quantities when making a homemade lotion may irritate your skin. It is recommended to use the cinnamon leaf oil because the bark oil causes more irritation troubles.

Some of the advantages of a cinnamon scented lotion are:

  • It soothes nerves. When stressed, a cinnamon lotion will help you calm down.

  • It fights coldness. When you're feeling chilly, applying this lotion will help you warm up.

  • It increases blood flow. Try using a cinnamon scented lotion when you get a massage.

  • It tones up the skin. Goodbye cellulite!

Making Lotions - Uses of Cinnamon Oil in Lotions

The cinnamon leaf oil is typically used as a beauty ingredient. It is a good astringent and antiseptic. Plus it warms and soothes the body. The cinnamon bark oil is an excellent diffuser and arouses the senses because of its aromatic fragrance. Generally, both types of oil are useful ingredients in a scented lotion.

When you make a homemade cinnamon scented lotion, add a little lavender oil because both cinnamon oils blend well with this. The effects are exceptional. A must-try!
