Facial Recipes Lurking in your Kitchen

Here is a creamy honey facial which you can make right in your kitchen: a tablespoon of raw honey, an egg yolk, a teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil. Just beat the egg yolk, add the oil, and blend well. After blending, add the honey. Smear the honey facial mixture all over your already-clean face with your fingers, except around the eyes. Let the facial mixture stay on your face for about fifteen minutes, after which, rinse the facial mask off. How does that feel?

Of course, there is the ever-perennial favorite, the homey cucumber, with lots of vitamin C, A, and other nutrients – which makes it good for the skin. Get a regular-sized cucumber, peel it and mash it. Pass the mashed vegetable on a strainer or sieve and separate the liquid. Combine the cucumber liquid with half a teaspoon of lemon juice, and a teaspoon of witch hazel. Mix and add beaten egg white, blending gently. Put the facial mixture on your face and let it stay for fifteen minutes. Rinse thoroughly.

Do you have blemished skin? Tomatoes are good not only for eating, but also for facials. Choose a just-ripe tomato and chop it. To this mixture, add a teaspoon of lemon juice and a tablespoon of oats. Voila! An instant facial mask that is quite refreshing. Add more oatmeal if you like to make into a thick facial paste. Put it on your face for about ten minutes and then wash it off.
