Beauty products like makeup, creams and lotions are not meant to last forever. The typical shelf life of most makeup products is anywhere between six months to a year.

Throw away makeup and creams you haven't used in over a year to avoid possible skin irritation from them. Also, make sure to keep your brushes and sponges clean. Replace these on a regular basis to prevent dust and powder buildup that could irritate your skin.
